Tonight I attended one of the most enlightening, rejuvenating, and all around awesome events of my senior year! I was invited to participate in an interfaith dialog with about 14 members of another faith–in this case, evangelical students from California. We had quick introductions, then divided into groups. We all had an understanding that this was primarily about understanding one another–about seeing what we actually believe (instead of basing it off of ‘what we’ve heard’)–and not about converting one another. We could ask any question. We talked about a lot of things: from the way we defend marriage to our conception of heaven. It was most enjoyable–I think both sides grew significantly in understanding. I know I did.
